  • Select appropriate size stocking by measuring ankle circumference just above the ankle bone.
  • Insert Hand into stocking as far as the coloured heel pocket.
  • Firmly hold the centre of the heel pocket and turn the stocking inside out to heel area.
  • Use both hands to widen the foot portion and place stocking over the foot ensuring the heel patch is under the heel.
  • Turn back the inside out portion of the stocking taking care to properly position the heel as shown (A) . This is important to ensure that the compression will begin at the ankle.

  • Smooth out any excess material on the foot by pulling the open toe of the stocking forward (B)

  • Pull up stocking over calf towards knee, smoothing out the fabric with the palm of your hand.
  • Ensure the stocking finishes at least two fingers below the back of the knee joint( C), the heel is positioned correctly and the stocking is worn smoothly without any roll over.3
  • Never pull directly on the top edge of the stocking and be careful not to damage the fabric with your fingernails.
  • Avoid rolling the stockings over themselves, as this renders them difficult to apply
  • If cared correctly Stockings should give you the recommended levels of compression for up to 30 washes.

  • Insert Hand into stocking as far as the coloured heel Pocket.
  • Firmly hold the centre of the heel pocket and turn the stocking inside out to heel area.
  • Use both hands to widen the foot portion and place stocking over the foot ensuring the heel patch is under the heel.
  • Turn back the inside out portion of the stocking taking care to properly position the heel as shown (A) . This is important to ensure that the compression will begin at the ankle.

  • Pull up Stocking over calf and then over knee, smoothing out the fabric with the palm of your hand.
  • Pull the remaining section over the knee and towards the upper thigh area
  • Ensure the stocking finishes in the upper thigh area directly below the Buttocks (C), the heel positioned correctly and the stocking is worn smoothly without any rollover.

  • Never pull directly on the top edge of the stocking and be careful not to damage the fabric with your fingernails.
  • Avoid rolling the stockings over themselves, as this renders them difficult to apply.
  • If cared correctly Stockings should give you the recommended levels of compression for up to 30 washes.

Cautions

  • Recent skin graft, Severe dermatitis, Pressure ulcer to the lower limb, fragile skin.
  • Do not fold down .
  • If patient is on the cusp of two sizes apply larger size
  • Check fitting daily.

Warning

Do not turn down the top band of the stocking as this can restrict blood flow. This product is a medical device – ensure the stocking is worn correctly and on both the legs at all times.

If unsure, ask a qualified person to assist or check fitting

Contra-Indications

Any local condition in which the stocking could interfere including Severe peripheral vascular disease, Severe arterial Disease, Peripheral neuropathy, Pulmonary Odema, Severe Deformity of legs, Gangrene of the lower limbs.
